British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two close friends.”

This update on his health follows the sports world had expressed condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
