The Red Bull team has revealed a major reshuffle for the 2026 F1 campaign, elevating French driver Isack Hadjar to its A-team and awarding 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his debut F1 drive. The young driver, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, will be the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the second team Racing Bulls. This driver musical chairs results in Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive post a half-decade in F1. Who is Arvid Lindblad? The British teen took part in first practice for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix this year. The youngster was marked out as a potential future star by Red Bull since he was 12 years old. Discussing the team's junior academy, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", praising his "pure speed". The team has been working since last year to prepare Lindblad for his likely Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring runs in Grand Prix practice at the British and Mexican races. The rookie said it was a "proud moment", commenting: "2026 will be a huge step, and I know there's plenty to absorb, but I'm eager to work closely with the team and rise to it. I am incredibly excited to get started." He has won two races in F2 this year and is sixth in the standings ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi. Hadjar's Big Break The French driver celebrates his first podium in F1, secured at the Zandvoort race this season. The Frenchman's debut season began on a low note when he crashed during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive rookies this season. His performances included an outstanding top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies in tenth place in the drivers' standings. A senior team figure commented: "Hadjar has displayed great maturity and demonstrated to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can succeed next to Max." The promoted driver called it "an incredible opportunity" and said he felt "ready". The Lawson Decision For the seat at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have opted for Lawson over Tsunoda. Lawson started 2025 with the senior squad but was demoted after just two races. He has found his form at Racing Bulls with notable results, persuading Red Bull he deserves more time. Tsunoda, meanwhile, loses his place after a disappointing season. His best result is a P6, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's points total. These announcements confirm that there is also no spot on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 next season.
