The former president's Granddaughter Gets Expert Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Before LPGA Debut

Young golfer getting ready for significant tournament

The rising star has impressive online audience

Kai Trump can count on numerous prominent cheerleaders as she starts her professional golf debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, received a tournament invitation to play at the Annika competition in Florida.

Her grandfather, an avid golfer, owns numerous international courses and frequently matches against Kai.

"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we play competitive games," she stated.

The golfer shared that Trump, who cannot attend, told her: "Just stay calm."

"My grandpa essentially told me to go out there and have fun," she explained.

"From my perspective, he's just a regular grandfather. He's not attending for the tournament. He's busy with running the country, so he's rather occupied."

Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in only three events recently and holds ranking 461 in AJGA listings.

But she can receive tips from Tiger Woods, who is dating Kai's mother.

"He represents the top athlete worldwide," Kai expressed.

"Furthermore, he's an even better person. He suggested me to play, relax, adapting to the flow."

Kai will face some of most prominent players in the sport at this tournament, such as second-ranked the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.

The LPGA mentioned that involving Kai brings golf to wider groups, particularly with younger fans.

The social media influencer boasts a massive following and recently launched an exclusive apparel and wellness company.

She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
