The Renowned Musician Calls On Public Help to Get Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The effort hopes to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It has a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The single was laid down following a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the rendition was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The notable list of performers contributing to Lullaby includes a group of acclaimed names from the music world. All participated in the September show, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a trio of music creators. The song features a mix of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the campaign have stated that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These donations will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an established charity.

“There is no a specific target,” a spokesperson said. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Of course, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was described as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of infrastructure said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a few million doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is first of all making this cause better known and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made accessible to view on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
