The relatives of teenagers missing after a tragic fire at a venue in a Switzerland's alpine town are facing an agonising wait for confirmed information and pleading for information about their loved ones via social media.

The inferno ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the mountains of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of the first day of the year. Verified images depict the ceiling being engulfed in flames as beverages with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have stated that it could take considerable time to formally name the fatalities of the fire, which killed four dozen individuals and hurt another scores more. Officials noted on Friday that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with work ongoing to name the final individuals.

In the meantime, families and friends have been using the internet to appeal for clues about their missing relatives who were at the bar that night.

Desperate Searches for the Unaccounted For

The whereabouts of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are currently unknown, according to an appeal from his family.

The resident of a town near the city, explained to a local newspaper that she had gone back to Lausanne to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his father did the same in the capital, but did not locate him.

"I'm living a nightmare, a nightmare. The options are finding my son in the morgue, or I find him in a serious state. It's terrible," she told the paper.

She added that some of his friends had been discovered with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "There are no words; they experienced an absolute nightmare."

The Italy's government has said that six of its citizens remain missing.

Young athlete Emanuele Galeppini, sixteen, was last in contact around midnight on New Year's Eve, according to.

Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage sportsman, originally from Genoa but now residing in the UAE.

The Italian Golf Federation has stated that he is dead, without directly referencing the tragedy, paying tribute to a "talented young man who represented passion and true sportsmanship."

His father, reportedly stated that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An official spokesperson has stated that a official announcement of his death is awaited.

Further Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also among the missing. His mother said that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with friends and ended up at the venue.

"Someone with him said they ran away after the fire erupted and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he lost sight of him," she explained, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his teachers said, "I remember his kindness and positive demeanor, alongside great maturity. Often offer to get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives permanently in the country, was also present on that night, according to reports.

Her sibling has posted an appeal on social media, saying the relatives has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the group she was with, who are also reported missing.

Consular authorities from her country of origin say they are actively engaged with the developments.
