🔗 Share this article UN:Me: An Psychological Thriller Merging Silent Hill and Among Us Gameplay The recent Day of the Devs digital showcase revealed several intriguing upcoming titles, but one especially has captured the imagination: UN:Me. Developed by Historia and Shueisha Games, this solo experience seems to blend the dread-filled setting of a Silent Hill game with the paranoid deduction heart of Among Us. "It's a distinctive experience where a young woman harboring multiple human souls inside her needs to flee from a maze of the mind," explains producer Yasukazu Kawai. Entering a Fractured Consciousness In UN:Me, players assume the role of an unnamed female protagonist seeming to be of high school age. Inside her reside four distinct personas, all possessing unique anxieties and motivations. These entities can take over at will, releasing their innermost terrors upon her without warning. Based on showcased gameplay, much of the action unfolds within a eerie medical facility, while additional clips show the protagonist navigating a desolate church. A World of Individual Dread "What makes you fearful of? What makes you uneasy?" poses creative lead Shun Sasaki. "High places. Confined spaces. People in power. Elements that appear minor to others can activate something primal inside us. This game delves into that idea — fears that are unique to each person." The central mechanic involves managing the persona that emerges at a particular moment. However, these identities will change against your will during gameplay. During exploration, every persona's fears become amplified and assault the girl one after another. As the persona shifts, so does the specific fear the player encounters. Unsettling Visuals and a Fatal Decision Initially, UN:Me displays striking aesthetic parallels with the Silent Hill franchise. The setting is populated by orderlies all sporting the identical visage, with unnervingly wide smiles. Patients in the lobby have large flowers where their heads should be. Floral motifs are an ever-present element, contrasting natural beauty with supernatural dread. Yet, UN:Me introduces a unique twist. Players must determine which of the four entities inhabiting the heroine is the "true" one. "Each of the souls claims that the physical form belongs to them," explains a creator. "Throughout the game, you need to figure out who is authentic." After a player believes a soul is an impostor, they are forced to destroy it. But, because each soul can deceive or obfuscate the truth, it is incredibly simple to choose incorrectly. "Perhaps you've already destroyed the true [soul] by your own actions," the narration suggests. "The last one remaining might be a fake. In any case, your choices are irreversible." UN:Me does not yet have a confirmed launch window, but it is can be follow on digital storefronts.
